How in the world did you manage to get these with no people around??

Oh wait, I just noticed the date taken, February! I've been going the wrong time of year! lol

lol okay, so its the same in February as it is in May lol.

I was there last weekend and there was no possible way to get the 4 main ones in a single image. :( I had to settle for shots of them individually.

Thanks :) I've actually seen the 5 videos he has there lol, is there any specific advice you can give me for avoiding halos on really defined edges like those rocks? I seem to have trouble there even when using his technique...

i used masking and layers in photoshop pretty much. just the brush tool really zoomed in to get in close

Ah I see. So much for a magical time-saving technique that doesn't require a lot of zooming then haha :P thanks!

Have you already edited it? 'cos I don't see much haloing. Very natural-looking colors, well-done for a HDR! Is there still sunlight on the hind rocks? The contrast to the sky is stunning! The whole landscape looks kinda irreal with those strangely-shaped hoodoo rocks - fantastic photo!

Yea, I noticed now. Looks a tad as if there is a hidden floodlight on top of the hoodoo, shining into the sky :XD:

Don't worry, I have photos older than that on my to-edit list :slow:
Don't remember the "flaws" of the before version, so I can't really compare. This one's looking good. I only just now noticed the how the lines match up.

there were serious halos around the rocks in the original photo i had submitted when i had used photomatix for an hdr.
it looks much cleaner and natural now i think.

thanks alex. the previous shot had halos around the hoodoos from processing it through photomatix.
if you want to see the older version for comparison purposes, i could send it to you.
